Description
This review sought to scope the literature, both grey and published, regarding social media use in young people (12-18) and its impact on mental health and wellbeing. It provides an update on the state of knowledge about social media usage and shares insights into its potential for both harm and good. It specifically explores the current limitations of the literature, social media’s impact on sleep, and its impact on young people with experience of self-harm or suicidality. The review has focused on these areas in particular in response to local requirements across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
