enDescription
In 1981-1982 the Greater Glasgow Health Board decided to embark on an extensive upgrading programme of the patient accommodation in a large hospital for mentally handicapped patients at Lennoxtown. When the work was completed the available bed complement would be 800. In 1981 there were 1,300 residents in the hospital, but the population had been steadily decreasing in the previous decade, and the Health Board required to know when and if it would reach 800.Collections
