enDescription
In order to provide a more comprehensive document, parts of Stage 1 have been included in Stage 2 of the Health Needs Assessment for Coronary Heart Disease. The basic statistical information used in Stage 1 has been extended and refined, providing a clearer picture of the condition and the impact it makes on the allocation of resources. Consultation has been held with a range of service providers to assess the existing workload and methods of care, with consideration given to identifying deficiencies in the present service and developments in the range of investigations or treatments which might be included in our recommendations. Information has also been sought on the present cost to the health service of coronary heart disease, with a view to assessing the need and possibilities for reallocating these resources. Having considered these factors, the final section includes recommendations for the consideration of the Purchasing Group with regard to both the setting of contracts, and the monitoring of the quality and extent of the service supplied by the Provider Units.Collections
