enDescription
Two major conclusions arose from the Scottish Health Education Coordinating Committee's report "Health Education in Areas of Multiple Deprivation": (1) that little action would occur in the community unless the demand for action came from the community itself and (2) that there was great potential for NHS professionals and those skilled in community development to co-operate in creating, and responding to, that community demand. Owing to the enthusiasm and initiative of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, a wide range of professionals in the health and social services came together with a number of community leaders to consider these problems.ISBN
