Description
Oral health in Greater Glasgow lags stubbornly behind that of the rest of Scotland and even more so the rest of Europe. Within the national Performance Assessment Framework oral health, or rather the lack of it, is a persistent red light indicator (meaning that it requires urgent attention). Poor oral health has serious consequences stretching beyond bad teeth. Conversely, good oral health is life enhancing and arguably a reliable barometer of our general outlook and level of general health. The purpose of this strategy is to set out the basis of achieving a stepped change in improving the oral health of the population of Greater Glasgow.
