Description
Recognising the link between mental ill-health and financial worries, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GGC) supported the development of the Financial Inclusion and Mental Health project (FIMH) for North East Glasgow. The project, which provides support to patients in five mental health wards in Stobhill hospital, combines expertise from existing patient and carer support services available in Stobhill through the Support and Information Service (SIS) and Patient Affairs, with a specialised financial advice service from GEMAP Scotland Ltd.
Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership - Health Improvement commissioned an evaluation of the project to determine its effectiveness in helping in-patients address their welfare needs and support their recovery, with a view to using the evaluation recommendations and learning to secure a mainstream service and inform a possible wider roll-out across the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board area.
